Film & video

In love with the visual medium, and how it can travel across borders to connect people to powerful ideas and one another, I work as a documentary film director and producer to tell transformational stories about social change. My film/video work is informed by my background in human rights and environmental activism, and practice of oral history. I work on collaborative filmmaking projects that disrupt traditional power relationships and documentary practices and advance unexpected, resilient, and regenerative stories for change. I invest deeply in relationships to create powerful spaces for reflection and visioning with the individuals and communities I partner with. As a Master Naturalist, I use film to create sensory experiences to not just intellectually challenge audiences, but also to immerse them in new experiences and ways of connecting–and ultimately–relating. Check out some of my film/video projects:

“What I really appreciate about Maggie’s approach to storytelling is how much she centers and values human relationships. Not only can she deliver powerful videos, but she’s highly aware throughout the whole process of respecting the communities she works with.”
